Wintersport

We're really into wintersport, as you'll probably have seen on "interests Henk".

In the winterseason we put our caravan on a campingplace in Valme, Sauerland and whenever we can we visit. During wintertime it's a nice place to walk or go cross country-skiing. In Winterberg you can also do some alpine-skiing, but it's very limited for the more experienced.

Our wintersport experience started at Jasna (former CS). We went there after we got married in 1992. It also was the first time we travelled by coach. Both we enjoyed very much. We had a lot of fun, especially with the après - ski. At that time things were really cheap overthere. On the other hand they had no experience with a group like ours and they wanted to shut down the restaurant/drinklounge at about 10pm, which we very soon, altered. At the end of the week we all parted as good friends. We still have contact with our very lovely skiteacher from Poland (Betty).

The year after we went to Borovetz, which wasn't very succesfull. Flying to Bulgaria was an event which we won't easily forget. Flying with a Tupulev is not what you want to do for a living. Then we had to evade from ... to Sofia (on accord of the fog), which resulted in an extra 2 hours drive by coach to Borovetz, which AGAIN is NOT something you want to do very often, especially if you have a weak heart. (do they have drivers licenses over there ?)

The years after that (1994 and 1995) we went to Strazne (the Chec Republic), to (CH) ,

Superdevoluy (Fr)

and Adelboden again. On all these vacations we went with our friends Ron en Gonneke den Boef.

In Strazne we had a lot of fun. Due to an error made by the holiday company we had to walk for half an hour before we got to the slopes. At first we were very pissed, but in the end we enjoyed the walk. The more since the rum was cheap and hot. The skiing though was limited.

Superdevoluy was sort of a disaster. Due to the mistral blowing, there was only skiing near the hotel. We (Ron, Ilke and I) then decided to take snowboard lessons. Although it was very cold, as you can see on the picture above, that didn't bother us a lot, because trying to snowboard for the first time gets you very warm indeed. We had a load of fun doing it !

To Adelboden we went with a group of about 25 persons. And again we had loads of fun. Skiing in Adelboden is nice.

The last few years we've been to France for alpine-skiing. First we twice went to , which we enjoyed very much. But in march 2000 we relocated to (some 35 miles "down the road") which we enjoyed even more !
