During 1989 till 1999 I visited Wales for a Dutch camping guide called "Campingwijzer". Not only grew my love for Wales during those years, but I've made some good friends as well. Two of these friends are Bill and Phyl Leyshon, who had a site near Monmouth. Over the years we became close friends and we had many good times when I was over. Bill loves to grow plants and to sing in a Welsh choir (the famous Risca choir). They moved to Abergavenny (Llanfoist) in 2000 and in 2001 I last visited them as you can read on the "motor" page
The second family I'd like to mention is the Lambs. John, Lana, Mathew and Charles Lamb are one of the most friendliest people you can imagine. They live in Fishguard and have a camping site. It's not the biggest one or the most convenient one, but the welcome and the stay are fantastic. John used to work for Stena Lines and still has some contacts over at the company. Lana does the site and the housekeeping. Mathew is already married (to Marie) and they have two children (Kieran and Cameron), Charles still lives at his parents home and does farming work in the neighbourhood. That's the thing he likes most. Whenever I visit I'm made felt like I'm part of the family. The third family is one, not living in Wales actually but very nearby. It's the Bosworths in Hughley (near Shrewsbury). They also have a campsite, named Millfarm Caravan park Every time I visited them during my inspections they invited me to the kitchen where we had a tea or coffee and had a chat and they also made me feel very welcome. In 2001 I visited them after three years (see the "motor"page and they invited me over to stay in their guesthouse and we did some strolling down memory-lane.
