Photography
I can safely say that I'm a enthusiastic photographer as you can see
especially on our travelpages. Until 1995 I had a canon A1 and EA 1,
with several lenses and a lot of Cokin filters, but they all got stolen.
After that I used cheaper cameras, due to the effect that digital
photography was coming and I wasn't sure whether I would buy a new
digital camera (not that good at the moment) or a new analog camera. So
I waited and waited, until I bought a cheaper digital camera (HP 200). I
instantly was sold and after a while I bought the Canon pro 90 IS. Again
Fate struck in 2005, when I lost my camera (with over a thousand
pictures taken in Burma) in Thailand. That was quite a blow. At this
moment I'm still pondering on the question if buying a SLR or a megazoom
camera.
StarTrek
Ever
since the 60's I'm totally hooked on Star
Trek. At first I watched it on German
television.
Later I mainly watched it on the BBC and Dutch television.
My favourite series are TNG and Deep Space 9.
what can I say ! I must be one
of zillions who love these characters.
I especially love Sylvester en Daffy. I would like as many clip arts as I
can get. If you click Daffy you'll get to a nice place, but if you know
others sites please send me an e-mail.
Droopy
Next to the Looney Tunes I really
like Droopy. which was a creation by Tex
Avery.
Charlie Brown
But what I like the most is Charlie Brown,
Snoopy and the rest of the gang. Especially the creations of Snoopy (Joe
Cool, the world war I ace etc.) .
I've got most of the Coronet pockets but
unfortunately they're not available in the shops anymore. If you've got
any of the following numbers 64,70,71,73,84,85,87,88,90 and up
and you're willing to sell me yours please contact me. I would be grateful.

- Perry
Rhodan

- Since the start of the series I've got a subscription to
Perry
Rhodan . This is a science fiction
series and I've enjoyed reading it every week since about
1971
(I think). In the Netherlands we are now (check the date) at number 1800. In Germany however, where it originated, they are at number 1860 (give
or take a couple of numbers- date 1997). It'll take me some 10 years to get there !
- What amazes me the most is the quality of the (future) things they
describe. Things they wrote about as science fiction in the beginning,
is now common

MUSIC

I really love listening to music. I like most styles, though I'm not
interested in contemporary music like heavy metal, hard core and stuff
like that.
What I do like is : The Doors, Queen, Joe Jackson, Mark Knopfler, Ry Cooder,
Clannad, The
art of noise and Yello. Besides those I've got a lot of Original Motion
Picture Soundtracks and blues.

Reading
Whenever possible I like to read, but since I've discovered the
internet most of my time is spent there.
I like reading horror ,like John Saul, Stephen King and Dean Koontz. But writers
like Hammond Innes, John
Grisham, Sven Hassel, Michael Crichton, Tom Clancy, Patricia Cornwell and Robin Cook are
among my collection as well.
One Dutch writer I would like to mention is Marten Toonder, who wrote
books about Olivier B. Bommel en Tom Poes. I don't really know if these
characters are familiar outside Holland as well.
And I like science fiction and fantasy. Writers like Tolkien, Ursula
leGuin, Richard Adams, Jack Vance, Gene Wolf are on the reading list.
Drawings of fantasy realms (Roger Dean) and fantasy people, like goblins
and dwarves, witches, dragons etc. ..... really love them.
One other writer I would like to mention is Carlos
Casteneda. His books about the teachings by Don Juan have made a
serious impact on me. As did everything regarding Tao (see next item)
TAO
I'm not a real religious person. I'm trying to
live my life according to the "rules" of the Tao. I've been
practicing Tai Chi in a period when I had problems in my work and that
really helped. Once and again I consult the I Tjing. I believe my
interest in American Indian life-style is for the same reasons. We're a
part of the universe and should live accordingly. However, unfortunately,
we think that we've "outgrown universe" and can make our own
rules.
I once took an sweat hut ritual which has made a deep impact on me
and whenever you are able to do the same thing, I really recommend it.
SPORTS
When I was a little younger than I am today, I liked to do all kinds
of sports (except anything involving water). But nowadays playing soccer
is what I do mostly. I still enjoy the game and it is one of two things
for which one may wake me up in the middle of the night. Other sports I
enjoyed doing were (and if given the possibility :are) baseball, tennis,
badminton.
Since 1992, I discovered skiing and fell in love with it. Now we go,
if possible at least once a year to a winter sport reside. So far we've
been to Jasna (CS), (Bulgaria), Adelboden
(CH), Superdevoluy,
La Plagne , Les
Arcs , Flaine (F) Meribel
(F) and Moena (I).
Besides that, we have our caravan during the winter season in Valmetal
, Sauerland
(Germany) and we can enjoy skiing over there as well. There is a
possibility for alpine skiing, but that's limited. So we like to do
"langlaufen" - cross country - too.

MOTOR
I've got my license in 1987 , but it's only from 2000
that I really used my bike(s) as a means of really traveling. On my site
there are several pages on my bikes and travels. Click here
to get there at once.
